Services offered by IT Lifeguard

Some of the services offered by IT Lifeguard are outlined here:

  • Consultancy: Are you getting the maximum return on your IT investments? If the answer is “I don’t know” or if you have unanswered questions then our consultancy service can help. Consultancy is not restricted to pre-sales but can occur at any point in the IT lifecycle. As we are independent, we have no problems whether you buy from global, national or local suppliers – our aim is to ensure you have the right equipment at the right price and that IT is working for you – not against you or even with you – we are only satisfied when IT is working for you.

  • Maintenance: Maintenance work is reactive and is for the resolution of your problems as they occur with no restriction on time spent resolving them. Maintenance ensures that any problems you have with your IT systems are resolved quickly, efficiently and cost effectively. In January 2009 we started to give each maintenance client a number of support hours included free of charge within their maintenance agreement. For non-maintenance clients we offer a break/fix service that is charged at an hourly rate.

  • Service: Service clients like the reassurance that we regularly check their systems to ensure they are running efficiently and effectively. Our service work is scheduled around weekly, fortnightly or monthly visits and is both historical and preventative – historical because we capture and report on warnings and prevent them becoming problems in the future. Preventative as we can perform housekeeping tasks such as programme updates and disk space analysis or apply any critical patches to your system to avoid the latest security exploits. In many cases, companies combine a service visit with non critical maintenance and support issues.

  • Support: Our support covers those times when nothing is actually broken but maybe you need guidance in using a programme or additional equipment adding to your network.

  • Security checks: Exactly how secure is your network? Not just from the outside world (Although that is *very* important) but also from an internal perspective? We offer both external security testing (Sometimes called 'Penetration testing') and internal security analysis - we can show you what shares exist on your network together with who has access to them. This can be done from a 'new employee' account or from an administrative account.

  • Auditing: Need to know how many computers have a particular software application installed? What %age of disc space is free on each computer? Who is storing their MP3 collection on your network? Are you sure all the software on your network is licensed?  We offer an auditing service that will answer these questions and much more besides. It's better that we check and then tell you rather than the BSA or FAST tell you!
